Hass.IO on Debian in ProxMox VM: how to connect USB stick?

Hi guys,

hope someone could help or at least point to some reference as i don’t know where to start.
My system is based on a mini-pc running Proxmox (debian based) with a Debian virtual machine running Hass.IO with NUC installation.

This means Hass.IO is running in a docker container on a Debian virtual machine under a Proxmox supervisor running on Debian! :frowning:

Obviously there are a lot of pros on this config (backup, transfer VM on different HW, etc…) but…I have a Zigbee USB stick which I would like to use with Zigbee2Mqtt Hass.IO add-on but not sure how to do to make such that USB stick is “passed” to Hass.io!

Can someone help?

Have you looked here: https://diyfuturism.com/index.php/2018/03/20/pi-to-nuc-part-1-migrating-hass-io-to-a-virtual-machine-proxmox-docker/

You just need to pass through the USB to the VM. HassIO is already set to pass through all USB devices it sees on the host. It is in “privileged” mode by default.

Hey, did you figure it out?

Yeah it was easy!
