Hass NFC - Control Home Assistant with NFC tags

As soon as I open the ‘Write’ tab, a toast notification appears

Error

So you’ve enabled both HTTP and API components in HASS, and they’re loaded? Are you on a recent version of HASS? Do you get any errors in your HASS log?

Have you enabled the token switch in settings and filled in your token you generated in HASS there? Pressed save settings afterwards? Are you on the same network as HASS if you’re trying to access it over LAN?

Basically all the answers to your questions are yes. I’m going to try re-issue the token.
Thanks for being so helpful…

I’ve just uploaded 1.1.6 in the Play Store. Should arrive for everyone in a few minutes to a few hours hopefully.

Changelog:

  • Test your connection in settings
  • All major screens are now looking even better!
  • Some help added in settings

Thanks everyone for the kind words and suggestions. I try to use them as best as I can.

Hopefully the next big feature will be to store data on the device instead of the tag for smaller tags.

Awesome update to the app mate. It clearly states the error which seems to be my problem. A http cleartext error. Apparently an Android 9 security update forces the use of https. You can over ride it in the back ground code it seems. Anyhow, I’m using remote access from Nabu Casa now which provides a https url, but that’s simply throwing up error:null If you’re interested in looking into this I’ll help in anyway I can. I’m sure your pretty busy but with all these great app updates…

Going to switch over to nabucasa also… Not tried hassnrc yet

Would it be possible for me to try it on your instance maybe? I hope/assume all Nabucasa instances work the same? Maybe with an URL and Token I can try to run it on my emulator with a debugger attached.

Weird about the Android 9 update, I have no issues with it. What exactly should be overridden? Do you have a link to that info you found?

Let me know it it works!

You can always try a trial on nabu casa, it’s 5 min setup, but you have to run 0.90
But I will also test later anyway

Ah cheers, that’s a better solution then.

i changed my url to the nabu casa one in the settings
when i click “test connection” , i get succes
so it seems fine with nabu casa!

Thanks for testing. Should work indeed then. Let me know if you find anything weird.

Will do offcourse

It’s working! Using access token, SSL verification ON, and Nabu Casa web address. Only thing I needed to do was remove the trailing forward slash / from the end of the URL.
Another 5 star review coming your way!

Awesome! Have fun

Thanks for this - this was the easiest transition from duckdns to nabu-casa cloud so far.

I keep getting handshake failed, I copy the long live token a couple times.

address is https://192.168.5.10:8123

See any issues?

Found issue, using dns (public ip) i use https. internal I dont use https. So it doesnt like it.

For local you either have to disable SSL check and/or use http.

Just released 1.1.8 in the store. It fixes an issue for people with Android 9 with HTTP connections, and a small fix for finger print authentication. In case you’re wondering why I’ve skipped 1.1.7; I just released that version when I found a fix for one of these issues, so I quickly released a new version :stuck_out_tongue:
