Hassbian web browser

Hi,

I have installed Home Assistant using HASSbian and I’m really happy with how the Google Home automation of the lights turned up. Thanks to a wonderful community at Home Assistant!

I would like to know if there is a way to fire up a web browser within the same Raspberry Pi without destroying Home Assistant. It seems like Hassbian only works a s a command line terminal.

I have tried

sudo apt-get install firefox

which didn’t help much and my Home Assistant stopped working. I had to update to the newest Home Assistant 0.75.3 in order to get it working.

I don’t think you can do that.

Hassbian is just a HA install in a raspbian virtual environment. It doesn’t install a desktop environment so there’s no way to get a browser to work.

I think you can install a desktop environment if you really need it. But it will take up resources that could be better used for HA.

I think…
