HassIO, HUSBZB-1, schlage lock. Won't obey lock/unlock

I’m just getting in HassIO and grabbed a HUSBZB-1 for my Zwave.
I’m trying to get my Schlage BE469 deadbolt working and I’m having issues.
The deadbolt seems to pair just fine, shows up as a lock and in the Zwave group.

When I ask it to lock/unlock, it comes back with a timeout.

I’ve heard elsewhere that the HUSBZB-1 sometimes has issues with secure?
Is this something obvious and fixable, or something weird that might be fixed with another Z-wave dongle?

BTW, I have a plugin outlet switch and it works just fine.

Exclude the lock and re-add it via Add Secure Node

The first time I added it, it was secure mode and just in case something went wrong, I removed and added it a second time, also secure mode.

Sorry to revive an old thread Skywise but did you ever get this working? Moved my lock over from Smartthings last night…one of the last items and of course its giving me a headache whether its added secured or unsecured. Symptoms are the same as yours. Sensors all show up but never update and see the message drops in the logs and cant control the device from HA. Would love to hear what you did if you got it working.

I never did get it to work, I eventually bought a new Vera and that worked fine.

Sorry if this is out of this thread’s scope, but I see more and more threads about issues with adding Z-wave locks securely to Home Assistant via stick (thereby OpenZWave and not Vera or other hubs). For example this one incl. my own situation: Another Danalock v3 config. Thread .

Issues like them (time outs, half way finished adding etc.) also appears in Domoticz and Jeedom communities. The common issue seems to be locks and OZW.
