I recently setup a new pi 3b+ from scratch. Figured it was time to cleanup my files and start using the newer tools available. I copied only a few files over to the new pi from the old one. The WWW folder and its files (images and mp3’s) and my lovelace interface. Everything else was all fresh. For the most part everything is working swimmingly. with the exception of HASSIO not being able to access anything in the WWW folder. I am at a loss, I am not sure where to head from here. Any help would be appreciated. I have tried directly accessing the files and I get a “404: not found” error.
I am running version 84.6, HASSIO is secured using duckdns and lets encrypt. Nothing too out of the ordinary in terms of setup.
did you whitelist the directory?
Possibly permissions issues on the files.
Also, just to be sure, you are using www not WWW?
Shouldn’t need to whitelist anything within the configuration directory, whitelist_external_dirs is for external directories that you still want to be able to access from within homeassistant.
mf_social, the file I believe is in caps. I copied it directly over from my last pi, which had it in caps. I changed the permissions through windows on the folder to be read/write to everyone, is there another method to check this?
Needs to be lowercase. I’m not sure how file permissions operate on hassio but on a standard Linux system you would use the chown command to set the files to be owned by the user that runs homeassistant.
mf_social, I will try the folder rename later when I get home from my office first, after that if it still is not working I will dig deeper and see if I can figure out how to change the permissions. I am a total noob when it comes to playing around with Linux, so it will be an adventure? lol
Thanks for the help so far!
MF_social, you are a genius lol that fixed the problem. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for the help
