Hassio on RPI3 - Wifi drops/unstable

Hey everyone.

I prefer to use the ethernet port, but lately I needed to use a hassio pie with WIFI connection. I have tried several access points from different vendors, but end up with the same problem. The pie is now connected to a ubiquti AP. When running ping against the unit it drops every 30-40 ping, 1-2 packets drop. Then it comes back online. This creates a use event log, and the of course a unstable UI.

Any tips ?

What does dmesg on the pi say?

How many wifi devices do you have on your network? If it’s more that a dozen I suggest grabbing one of those free wifi analytics apps for your phone/tablet and see if your channel is saturated.

Seems like these errors stopped after I manually set country code to “NO” in the config.json in the root directory. Still getting high latency and random drops. The curse of the 2.4gz ?
