HASSIO Setup Broken after Upgrade to 2023.4.1

After upgrade from 2023.2.5 to 2023.4.1 I am experiencing:

  • Energy either takes long to display or shows “An error occurred while fetching your energy preferences: undefined.”
  • Calling InfluxDB yield error “Supervisor: Unable to fetch add-on info to start Ingress”
  • Grafana dashboards are empty, it appears that DB is gone
  • Generally and most importantly, a lot of delays when moving around in UI
  • Connection losses (likely causing the delays)

I am not seeing anything in logs which could indicate what is going wrong. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any ideas what could have gone wrong?

There was a change to the original database to use it more effectively. Check the release notes for the 2023.4.0 and some follow up cleanup on the one after that.

It says depending on the size of the database it could take some time for it finish.
There other changes for other databases as well. SQL, MariaDB, etc

Unfortunately I didn’t get better overnight. I now resorted to restoring a backup and everything is working normally again. Will avoid further upgrade attempts for a while. An LTS version of Home Assistant would be nice…
