I’m new to HA and trying to get things set up. I have installed the OpenSSH and Pi-Hole Add-ons. according to Pi-Hole, the whitelist needs to be edited using the command line. How do I access the addon applications? do I need to add the install location to the root user path?
To edit the Pi-hole whitelist, you do it from the Pi-hole Admin Console. Click on the Hass.io tab in your Home Assistant front end, and select the Pi-hole add-on. You will see an Open Web UI link. Click that and you can log in and edit your Pi-hole config.
The Web UI for updating the whitelist doesnt work. According to the Pi-Hole site you need to update using the command pihole -w …
You’re not using Pi-hole, you’re using the Pi-hole add-on for Hass.io. With the Pi-hole add-on, you make config changes through the Web UI.
No - the issue is that Pi Hole isn’t working to whitelist via the web interface on v3.3. This version has a bug and only allows whitelisting to work when done via the CLI - I’m having the same problem, I can’t whitelist anything new using the pi-hole add-on as I can’t get to the CLI.

Do you get the same error mentioned in the post when you try it with the add-on? I’m curious because I whitelisted probably a dozen domains when I set up a new system 4 days ago. They were added to the list just fine.
It did eventually work for me. I had to reboot the pi a few times, and clear out the caches of the devices that had been blocked. It would still be nice to have more independent control of the add-ons
