Having issues adding Zwave devices in Long Range

I have several Z-Wave devices that do 800LR. 2 are ZSE70 Motion Sensors and the two are working but only one is in Long Range Mode the other is not. Also they are not showing the same feature set in the UI. I have noticed that my camera can not read the QR code while in HA and yes HA has all permissions turned on, even tried with other phones in the home. I have managed to get it to work (sometimes) by taking a photo and emailing it to my desktop then uploading it. BUT it seems that it’s not correct all the time. Product Name and Code are not showing but it did the first time, the other thing is as you can see is some fields ar missing and ONE is Zwave while the other is Long Range which I need since it’s pretty far out there on the opposite side of a Mother In Law home. What am I doing wrong ? HA is installed in a Home Assistant Green device. The first 2 are identical motion sensors ZSE70’s.

WHAT is the proper way to add new 800 LR devices ? I thought it was scan the box QR code while in the JS UI then power the device up and then click on Inclusion ?

The first part of that is correct, the second part is incorrect. To include with LR you first need to scan the QR code, then edit the entry and turn on LR mode, then activate the entry. Finally, you just wait for the device to connect. If you “click on Inclusion”, it sounds like you are performing Class inclusion, which won’t allow Long Range. LR is only enabled with SmartStart.

Since node 37 is already included you would need to exclude it, edit the entry to enable LR, then re-activate the entry and wait for it to include on its own.

Z-Wave JS UI is a 3rd party application, it’s not part of HA. It’s included as an add-on for HAOS. Issues using the camera would need to be reported at https://github.com/zwave-js/zwave-js-ui. However, make sure you are accessing ZUI via an HTTPS URL, cameras will not work over HTTP URLs.

Keeps telling me I can’t use HTTPS but works with HTTP

Web browsers will not allow you to use the camera over HTTP.

What I meant was I can’t access the web page using HTTPS only HTTP. I’ll have to see if I can find a better manual or step by step documentation on this JS_UI add on.
I google stuff but the updates are pretty frequent so most info I find is different.

If you are using HAOS you need to setup HA with HTTPS.

I will need to look that up, don’t remember it as an option when I was setting up my HA Green. Sorry if it’s simple stuff… believe it or not at one time I was pretty web savvy, that was 17 years ago before I moved RURAL. I finally got internet in Feb and forgot a lot more than I ever knew over 17 years. All we had up to this past winter was a weak cellular signal for barely even surfing the web let alone video or doing anything serious like downloading. :frowning:

I don’t think it’s a “turn-key” option except for Nabu Casa Cloud (a paid service), which will provide remote access for you via HTTPS https://www.nabucasa.com/config/remote/. Otherwise, I think there are a lot of setup guides with varying degrees difficulty.

I don’t bother with the camera myself. I scan all the QR codes with a QR code scanner app, copy the text to a file (that I save) and add the entry with the QR text from a PC. You can also take a picture with the camera and upload the image from the same menu on your phone.

Thank you i have found the photo uploads iffy at best. It sometimes works…if i have time tomorrow and its not raining i plan on doing that with your instructions and waking up the motion sensor and see how that goes. The wakeup routine is a PIA sometimes since it sems many ZOOZ products differ in the procedure from oke to another.

Thank you Fresh! Rain let up a bit I drove by the house during work and included that node properly AND USPS had shown up with a Tilt/Shock sensor from ZOOZ and did that quickly. Now to test the tilt shock, not 100% sure if it’s going to work on my mailbox like I want it to. If not I place it on my garage door.
