Hello community,
I have a Daikin Altherma 3 M MT ECH2O heat pump at home and would like to increase the set temperature in the heat pump’s storage tank if there is a photovoltaic surplus. Now, from my point of view, there are two options for implementation:
-
I could control the SG contact (Smart Grid) of the heat pump via a Shelly and increase the set temperature when there is a photovoltaic surplus.
-
I could use the Daikin HACS integration (GitHub - jwillemsen/daikin_onecta: Home Assistant Integration for devices supported by the Daikin Onecta App) to temporarily increase the set temperature via an automation as long as there is a photovoltaic surplus.
The second solution seems easier to me initially and would not require any additional hardware (Shelly). I’m just wondering if there is anything else controlled by the SG contact on the heat pump besides increasing the set temperature, or if there are other advantages to this option.
It would be great if you could help me with this.
Thank you!
