Heating Programmer Replacement

Need help on search terms please., for the forum.

So, I have a Duel Programmer for my heating, CH and HW. I have a room thermostat that is hardwired to the programmer to control CH. The HW is simply a “HW” button on the programmer that needs to be pressed to demand HW.

I want to use a Z-Wave battery operated thermostat that and a device to replace my Programmer. I guess that device needs to be 2 part - 1 controlled via the thermostat and 2 being an On/Off type switch , both integrated by HA,

What do I need to search for in terms of the replacement for my programmer, what is the device called or the search term I need to use here and/or in Google.

Thanks

I use one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/Secure-SSR302-Z-Wave-Channel-Actuator/dp/B00HZR6U7S?SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duc08-21&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00HZR6U7S

thanks
how do i know if it works with HA?
where is the list of compatible devices for this and other devices i might consider

I use it with HA via https://github.com/OpenZWave/Zwave2Mqtt so that HA only sees MQTT messages.

I am not aware of any HA compatibility list.

thanks
but i found the Z-wave config for the “secure 2ch booklet, HW switch,”

mqtt -2-zwave IHO just ads more complexity

Why would you only want HA to see MQTT ?

please reply Graham

(above posts from me)

I can control my house with any MQTT client, without having to resort to HA.

It also makes it relatively easy to use with other controllers. I can switch from HA to OpenHab or something else without having to check for compatability.

understood Graham, however my preference is a single managed system, using hass.io , I’ve PMd you a question on this which was a detailed one and lengthy :flushed:
