Heatpumps with local API

Hi Guys!

i am currently planning to replace my old oil heating with a heatpump system.

The heating installation company gave me an offer including a panasonic heatpump. After research i think it is possible to integrate it into HA via the Comfort Cloud integration? But here i would be using a cloud service…

Do you know of any Heatpump manufacturers out there that provide any sort of local API (And what would that be)?

For certain models of Thermia and Danfoss heatpumps, you can get this:

ThermIQ Integration to control Thermia and Danfoss heatpumps

I, unfortunately, have a Thermia iTec, which is not compatible with the ThermIQ, and doesn’t seem to have any way to integrate local control.

Thanks for the reply! I will give that a closer look!

However i just found two interresting solutions for panasonic Heatpumps:

seems like there are local API possibilities depending on the different models

Does anyone of you use either of those systems and can share some experiences?

In case someone is interested in the topic:
I have a heatpump with a Luxtronix controller. Luxtronix is used by several brands such as:

  • Alpha Innotec
  • Siemens Novelan
  • Roth
  • Elco
  • Buderus
  • Nibe
  • Wolf Heiztechnik

Luxtronix has a local API with good functionality and lots of sensor values. There are occasional firmware updates with small improvements.

There is an integration in HACS for it as well as a fork which is more user-friendly, bit a bit more experimental. Maybe they’ll merge some day…

The integrations breaks occasionally on a HA update and it might take a while before it gets updated. I think it’s popular enough that things get fixed within a reasonable time.
