Heishamon can't connect to MQTT-Broker

Hello,
as a fresh HA-User (also new here), I have some
Problems with Heishamon and MQTT.

After research in many Usergroups, I can’t find and fix the problem - maybe somebody here can help me.

Installation:
HA-OS on (HA-Core: 2026.9.2) Raspberry Pi5 - LAN connected (static IP)
Heishamon Large (Firmware: 4.2.1) - LAN connected (static IP!)

MQTT + Mosquito Broker installed on HA-OS - running

separate user for Heishamon/MQTT created: Heisha

connection to Heishamon over ip works (Heishamon receives values of Panasonic heat pump)

MQTT Broker should work:

but Heishamon failed to connect to MQTT:

here are my current settings in Heishamon:

tried also different ports (1882, 1883, 1884, 8883,…) but nothing works.

Any idea?

warm regards, Michael

Did you use a login and password to connect to the MQTT broker?

hi @Sir_Goodenough : do you mean this?

if not, could you explain where I have to configure the login & pw?
Thanks!

In the configuration page of the mosquiitto app, add the login and password there, it should tell you to reboot, then try to log in.

And set the port back to 1883. 8883 is for secure connections - those require a certificate, which you don’t have based on your screenshot.

in HA unter Einstellungen (Settings) → Apps → MoquittoBroker → Konfiguration: i set up 2 new logins + pw. Port changed to 1883.

and edit in Heishamon Konfig:

reboot HA & Heishamon, but nothing changes

You also changed your server address. It should be pointing to the HA IP, which is where your mqtt server is running. Change it back to 192.168.x.x

yes, you are right - changed IP adress and get a new “picture”:

thanks for your help! It’s running…changed the username to mqtt-heisha. maybe “heisha” or “heishamon” were reserved.
