Help adding Eve Flare to HA

Hi All,

Does anyone have any idea - trying to add an Eve Flare. I add it to Apple, remove it - it instantly pops up as a new device to add in Home Assistant.

But then I get…

Any ideas?

cheers

Stuart

PS have tried adding and removing it 5 or 6 times.

It’s going to sleep on you. Make sure it’s on the charger and turned on and be snappy when you remove it from homekit.

Thanks - just tried again, it is on the base and I must have clicked the link within 1 or 2 seconds but exactly the same issue. Looking at it - it looks like an IPv6 address. Home Assistant is running on a docker with only IP4 - could this be the issue?

Cheers

Stuart

Looking at it again - it would appear that Home Assistant itself is trying to add it rather than via my apple tv?!? Has this changed recently.

I found a couple of other people with issues on the github.

Cheers

Stuart

Cany anyone else offer any insight - this is REALLY frustrating me. Cheers!

hmmm I see that

Eve Flare is a Minimal Thread Device (MTD) – but what does that mean?
The current version of Eve Flare supports Thread. This technology makes your smart home network more responsive, robust, and increases its reach – the only other thing you need is a is a home hub (Thread border router). Battery-operated Thread accessories, such as Eve Flare, represent endpoints in your Thread network.

Does this mean I have to have thread setup in HA to use it?

Dit you get the Eve Flare to work in HA? How did you do it?

Still odd to me they haven’t updated this device to work over Matter

nope still haven’t managed!
