Not sure what provided “0.0.0.0” as the IP of raw.githubusercontent.com for you, but that’s wrong.

Thank you for the reply! But I didn’t change any thing and I have reinstalled Get HACS and retried for many times, but it has always been 0.0.0.0. Does anyone here know the reason? Thanks!!!

Maybe need more information?

I installed Home Assistant Operating System on a VM Ware virtual machine in Windows 11.

Or is there any other method to installing HACS? Thanks!

That’s down to your DNS server. Are you running AdGuard, PiHole, or similar?

Thank you. But no I’m not. I hardly even know these software.

Are you in China? It’s quite likely that the Great Firewall is doing this - I’ve a vague memory of others reporting problems reaching GitHub from China.

Oh, yes… Maybe that was the reason. But I didn’t expect it to be so completely unusable. Thank you! :handshake:

Is there any other method?

You’ll need to find some way of bypassing the Great Firewall. There’s possibly going to be answers elsewhere here, but if not there certainly will elsewhere.

Whether that’s a wise things to do … you know your government better than I do

Yes, you are right. But one of the most bizarre problems is that I have tried to open the proxy to reinstall it, but it was still 0.0.0.0.

Although I have seen some unofficial ways to install HACS that may work, I prefer to install it through the official recommended method.

Thank you, @Tinkerer , for giving me more confidence on finding out other possible approaches. Now I’ve got what I expected! :handshake: :handshake:
