Help - Completely Messed up Upgrade on QNAP Container Station

I had the March Version of Home Assistant installed on my QNAP Container Station and tried to update to the latest version. I followed the steps here: Alternative - Home Assistant. However, I look to have completely messed it up. HA now loads, it recognises some of my devices, but I can’t use anything. for example when I click on Overview, there is no option to add to the dashboard (my old dashboard has disappeared), my HACS has disappeared and most of the configuration options are gone.

I think the best idea is to start afresh, but every time I delete the container and reload it, it still recognises a few of the old devices and leave me in a position where I can’t do anything. How do I delete everything and start again?

Also, if I do get going again, how do I update the container without all this hastle?

Did you leave the config folder?

If you did remove the config folder you just did start afresh.

I just deleted the container within Container Station. I assumed that would remove the container and image. The folder with the conf.yaml and HACS were not deleted. (I should say I am fairly new to docker and HA).

Did you mount the share again?

I’ve never installed this way so I’m just going by the docs and your symptoms (looks like you have a brand new install).

Yes, I did this, but it still gives me what looks like a corrupt version.

Have a look in Developer tools / Logs.

I have no logs in Developer Tools. Most of the options have gone across all the menus.

Err… what version is that?

I think you may have loaded up an old one. That could be your issue.

Developer tools has been a single link in the side panel for quite a while. You have the old row of icons.

When I go into Container station, I type in Home Assistant, the version that comes up is this one: Docker Hub

It’s the right container, but which version?

This is the list of versions: https://hub.docker.com/r/homeassistant/home-assistant/tags?page=1&ordering=last_updated

Which one did you get?

What happens if you click on the i in a circle bottom left under developer tools?

The recommended version is 0.65.5, this is the one I install.

I have just deleted it again, I will re-install and see what I get.

I get 0.65.5

:eyes:

That is so old I’m not surprised it does not run correctly.

You are looking for 2021.8.4

So how do I pull that into Container Station?

I have no idea. Try clicking the Docker Hub tab instead of Recommended.

Ok, I did get to this stage before, but I was unable to install HACS (I use Hubitat so need HACS to run this integration). I’ll give it another go and let you know how I get on. Thanks for now. BTW this version is 2021.5.4 (so I assume May), is there a later version for docker?

According to the link I posted above v2021.8 is there.

I’ll take a look at that in a moment. I am now trying to find the configuration.yaml file and the directory to point to in HACS, at the moment all I have is this:

.config only has an app.json file in it. Last time I had a dedicated folder, I have done something wrong in the install?

When I try to install I get the May version despite selecting latest. It is the same page you are showing me.

Hello everyone… the same for me:
I have the Home Assistant 2021.7.0 installed and configured and I already did a lot of upgrades during the past two years.
Ha is showing me that there is a new version (2021.8.4)… but when I check for it in
Container Station → Docker Hub → homeassistant/home-assistant → select image version…
I can only view the oldest version (the latest version I can find in the Docker Hub menu is 0.119.0.dev20201216)
Last week I updated my Qnap to the current firmware version: 4.5.4.1741 and Container Station to 2.4.0.2316 version
Someone with this firmware/container station version could check the realease of homeassistant/home-assistant dockers, please?
Thanks a lot
