Help - HA totally unstable suddenly

So after I added a second spotify user like below:

I now get a log error:
Updating spotify media_player took longer than the scheduled update interval 0:00:30

Now HA is very unstable… integrations page will not open, I got a spinning wheel, does not matter if it is via PC or App.
I can not go to the restart page as it is not responding (on PC), luckily it responded in the app and I rebooted the entire host which took a considerable longer time than usual.

I Think this logging message is related:

Logger: homeassistant.components.media_player
Source: helpers/entity_platform.py:857
Integration: media_player (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 13:41:48 (22 occurrences)
Last logged: 13:46:49

Updating spotify media_player took longer than the scheduled update interval 0:00:30

I could really use some help as now everything is stalling :frowning:

EDIT: don’t know how to proceed as the next step would be to delete the spotify integration but I cannot get in that page as it is a spinning wheel

Everything is unbelievably slow and non-responsive and unreachable I have kicked of a full restore (full-OS-snapshot from 13:00) :crossed_fingers:

type " -h "

Thanks. For now too late:

However, I am going to configure it again and when it might stall all again I’ll do

ok, yes , when it Stalls, you either close your APP and any browsers you have HA open in, or try viewing the logfiles through (core, supervisor) in the cli, if needed you can type “login” and you can navigate to the homeassistant /config folder
cd /mnt/data/supervisor/homeassistant, and i.e tail or less home-assistant.log

I don’t know whether the cause is do to “Updating spotify” is hanging on the connection to your spotify-account" , but i guess a “debug - spotify” look in the core.log would reveal more than you , short-snippet shows

Ok, I am back, added 2nd spotify account and I think the issue is back. But different this time… I can (still) access the integrations page but this does not work anymore but I did not change any config:

PS: also make sure you followed this

To add an additional Spotify account to Home Assistant, go to the Spotify website, log out, and then repeat only the steps in the Configuration section.

logged out yet ?

If I did not log out I could not add the 2nd account, so yes that’s done…

ok, yea i don’t know about setting up another account there

Ok, back to the drawing board… spotify is not the issue I think… It’s emulated hue… more later…

I had add the 2nd spotify user again and all was stalling again leaving me no other option than to fully restore again (!)…

Now I did the 3rd time add it, it seems to work but then it just slowly dies (HA)… up on to the point I deleted both spotify integrations (users) and this leaves me with a non-functional HA again… It just tops all kind of “normal” activities:

cannot add an integration anymore:

Developer tools (check config):

Settings - System power button non-responsive:

And in the core log all kinds of vague timeouts…

Oh what is this vagueness!?

The only thing left is to do a full restore again… I’ll leave away the 2nd spotify account :frowning:

Debug is less, shows more, … repeated pics of a spinning “thing” … is vagueness!

Not fair, I added logs

3rd time full restore… even when not adding 2nd spotify account I get the issue…

It starts as soon as I open a media player and start to browe spotify, which does not work and seems to slowly hang my entire HA.

I have never seen such behavior before and I do not know how to stop and/or troubleshoot this… I do do see any mentioning of this in any log except after the slowness begins, the log start to fill with messages of “took longer” (as given above).

It’s so bad the download full log button does not even do anything:

UPDATE: Spoke with Joost Lek From HomeAssistant…

It is a HA bug it seems… We had a 2 hours call and he (and I) am now aware of this issue. It’s being worked on.

The issue seems to be with specifics around the Spotify API and an app and some (I don’t know exactly).

This caused HA to totally hang due to the bus getting blocked (or something, forgive me, I do not speak that language).

Thanks Joost!!!
