Help! i havent updated my HA in a while

so i decided it was time to update my HA which i havent done since Feb23 and i kind of knew it was going t go badly and it did. i did make a full backup before i started, wisely.
After the update I can’t access the HassOS gui (ie http://homeassistant.local:8123 ) after updating to the latest HassOS version. I have no access via a browser or via the iOS app. i have rebooted it several times. I get the error messages (on my desktop browser): “website cant be reached" i can ping HA, i can Telnet to HA and log in to root but from there im stumped!
I tell you its hard when none of your home automations that you take for granted no longer work, the wifes giving me a right ear bashing.
Im hoping its something simple to fix, im no expert on Linux commands but i can get around let me know what info i need to give and ill get it over straight away.

Please help HA community

Most likely something with your DNS settings has changed. The fastest way to diagnose is to provide a screenshot of your HAOS as per below example.

Can you ping 192.168.30.249. If you can ping this IP address, try to access HA using http://192.168.30.249:8123

Ping works fine and I can telnet to the ip address. Http://192.168.30.249:8123 is the same website unavailable

Have you tried to access from a wired device(PC/Laptop with TP-cable), or only via WIFI ?

I also notice your HA-Instance have 2 IPv6 addresses, so it seems like you have IPv6 enabled in your Router, if you absolute have no reason to use IPv6 in your internal network, i suggest you disable it in your Router, … IF any of you devices have reasons to, and capable of “talking” to each over IPv6 they will assign an address them self(if they are smart enough), but internally not many average local network can’t benefit much for also have this enabled to interfere

There have been some database changes since feb '23. HA could still be migrating the database.

Can you reach the observer url? Port 4357.

Can you give us a screenshot of the error trying to access http://192.168.30.249:8123

i have tried to access http://homeassistant.local:8123/ from ipad, pc (hard wired) and laptop (wireless) all display this:

i can access the observer which works fine:
http://homeassistant.local:4357/

my database is quite small 688mb

Do you have the samba add-on installed ?

No I don’t

Can u please try to provide a screenshot trying to access http://192.168.30.249:8123, not homeassistant.local (use the IP address not the DNS name).

Can you please confirm if my understanding is correct:

  1. From the same system PC/MAC
  2. You can SSH into 192.168.30.249
  3. You can ping 192.168.30.249
  4. You can HTTP to 192.168.30.249:4357
  5. You cannot HTTP to 192.168.30.249:8123

If my understanding above is correct you need to check your firewall or other network infrastructure. Something blocks access to port 8123.

If you can SSH into 192.168.30.249, can’t you look at the logs ?
