Help Needed Please Setting Up Squeezebox

I thought this would be so easy.
My Logitech Squeezebox is setup and running. I can access it by the web browser.
But tried everything using the HA Integration.
I goto Integrations and press install.
Just asks 4 questions

  1. Host
  2. Port
  3. User Name
  4. Password

I’ve tried everything, and instruction are complicated using the old manual way. HELP !!

Host - Squeezebox IP address
Port - 9000
You do not have to enter a username and password.

If I look on my home router I can see it on my router LAN of devices I can see the Squeezebox on 192.168.xxx.xxx however if I type that into a browser it does work.
If I type in https://www.mysqueezebox.com then I’m in and have full access to my radio via the web broswer.
SO the question is what is the local IP address you are referring to? because if I type the local IP in as you suggested it does not work. Thanks for your thoughts in advance.

Yes I meant IP 192.168.xxx.xxx.
That’s how I set it up, but it’s been a long time.
You do not have any Squeezebox settings in configuration.yaml.
If so, delete and use only the integration settings.
Did you restart HA?
What happens when you fill in the mentioned values?
Any mistakes?
I still ask, did you install LMS + piCorePlayer according to this procedure?
https://docs.picoreplayer.org/how-to/install_lms/

Sorry my typo here…

If I look on my home router I can see it on my router all devices on my LAN, and I can see the Squeezebox on 192.168.xxx.xxx however

if I type 192.168.x.x into a browser it does NOT work.

However If I type in https://www.mysqueezebox.com then I’m in and have full access to my radio via the web browser.

So something is missing here.

And No I have never entered anything into the YAMI file. I actually don;t know anything about YAMI configuration so far anyway.

And my Lights and Devices are installed by “Integrations” and this is why I choose the Squeezebox as it’s now an Integration, vs the old style of typing in complex code in the Yami file…

Sorry I’m just a Newbie struggling with this all. But using Logitech Squeezebox on HA seems pretty simple. What am I missing ?

I’m a retired Network Administrator, so I’m pretty Computer savvy … LOL

I understand you’re connecting to the Logitech website where you created your account?
It works a little differently. The device must be running an LMS server that manages each player. My message: LMS + piCorePlayer runs on Rpi and I have two more players on two Rpi Zero WH. Using IP LMS and port 9000, you can connect to a running LMS server through a Web page. This server is integrated with Logitech Squeezebox integration. Other added players are then found automatically. So I have 3 players in the rooms. Take a look at the link I put in the previous post.

Well Thanks for your help, But I’m not interested in running a Logitech Media Server, I simply
want to access the Squeezebox from Home Assistant so I can select the stations I like same as a web page would allow.
Seems pretty straight forward, and only 4 questions need to be answered on the Integration, anything else not needed.

Not sure why this is so complicated. Ughh

Just asks 4 questions

Host
Port
User Name
Password

I have no idea why it doesn’t work, The Host is undefined.
Is it the Website host, if so is it the IP or the Domain name?

Thanks again for your time.

If you don’t have the hardware and the LMS server, it will never work. You don’t even need https://www.mysqueezebox.com to integrate, it’s not important. Another note: you will not connect to https: // unless you have HA open on the Internet.

If I can type in [https://www.mysqueezebox.com ] on my browser and get what I need, why can’t just use the Browser integration in HA to open up that site ? I can do it on several Web Cam’s.
I just tried but says the browser doesn’t support it, but I can click on it and it opens in a separate Tab.

Must be a better way. Thanks again.

Here’s what happens if I use the Web Page Card Configurator.

Because logitechmediaserver uses port 9000, so you have to go to 192.168.x.x:9000 in your browser.

OK I have read the rest of the thread now. You need LMS.

OK I’ll try includng the 9000 port… Thanks
