The GRUB menu first appears when computer boots, then second screen appears. after it finished loading screen goes black.
I have tried from slot A, slot B and rescue shell A and B and same thing happens.
I tried reinstalling Ubuntu from usb drive but it will not load either
Does it start a server on port 8123?
It does not
Do you get anything on your screen, tried ctrl_alt_f1 etc?
Can you capture the screen just before it goes blank?
Can you answer my last question?
Does it have an IP address?
Are any ports running? Perhaps 4357?
Not sure trying to figure out how to determine this
Your router will know if it has handed out an IP address.
I installed HAOS over WiFi. Deco doesn’t have that particular computer identified on the server
Wifi? Don’t think that is in the instructions.
Plug in an Ethernet cable that is connected to the network and to the internet.
Note: Internet is required because the newly installed Home Assistant OS does not contain all Home Assistant components yet. It downloads the latest version of Home Assistant Core on first start.
Power the system on. If you have a screen connected to the Generic x86-64 system, after a minute or so the Home Assistant welcome banner will appear in the console.
The initial download computer was connected to Ethernet cable. And for the first several restart attempts. I installed on sept 30, came back to finish on Oct 1 and would not load, have worked intermittently since then on solution. I’ll run another cable and connect.
I did get try ubuntu to boot from usb again by choosing safe graphics. Reconnected to Ethernet
Downloaded another copy of HAOS and currently installing to hard drive again
This is what screen looked like after Ubuntu wrote to hard drive. Powered down machine. Removed usb and restarted.
Still have a black screen after reboot.
Home assistant computer shows up with IP and MAC address
