Dear all,
I am slowly stepping into the wonders of the HomeAssistant world, and each day I seem to learn something new, unless discovering that, together with knowledge, many doubts and questions arise.
I managed to install HA on Synology Nas in Docker, runs rather smoothly (still have to make SSL and external access work after days of banging my head), but now I have an Odroid XU4 board available with Ubuntu (Mate I guess) installed on the eMMC card.
The question is: what method would it be the best to install HomeAssistant, in a Docker container of the Linux OS or to format everything and perform a fresh install (on the eMMC presumably) of Home Assistant ?
I switched to this board because -basically- I wanted the developer option, not being able to get it on the Synology Nas.
Any advice is highly appreciated, on installation, configuration and add-on most-needed modules.
I’d go for HA container on Linux unless you want to turn the underyling hardware into an HA “appliance”. HA OS on Odroid is probably not even officially supported (if that matters).
Personal favour.
Thanks Christoph, I thought that too, although I could use the Odroid just for the HA enviroment.
But reading around forums and articles, I understood that it will not be supported in the future… am I wrong?
