Help Request - Mobile App Tracker Status is Not Updating

THE PROBLEM:
One of my 9 Mobile App devices is not updating it’s tracker location; it is stuck in the “Away” state (see screenshot).

OBSERVATIONS:

  • Other Mobile App devices (iPhones and iPads) update their tracker locations appropriately.
  • Other entities for this specific device (Dean’s iPad) do update appropriately. For example, if I change WiFi networks, the SSID changes to the correct WiFi network. And, the battery level and state update appropriately when I plug it in.
  • Location sharing is set to “Always”

HOME ASSISTANT VERSION:

  • Home Assistant Core Version: 2024.11.3
  • Home Assistant Supervisor Version: 2024.11.4
  • Operating System: 13.2

IPAD INFORMATION:

  • IPad Pro 9.7in (2016)
  • Identifier: iPad6,3
  • Model #: A1673
  • iOS version: 16.7.10
  • WiFi only (no cellular)

I fixed it. Not sure what it was. But, this is what I did:

  1. On the iPad: Log out of HA, then delete app
  2. On Home Assistant Mobile App (i.e. Home assistant → Integrations → Mobile App): Delete the device (i.e. iPad)
  3. Restart device (iPad) and restart Home Assistant
  4. Re-install Home Assistant on device (iPad)
