Hi,
I am going to buy a Pi to run home assistant on having tried it on a W10 PC. My devices include Sonos, Wemo Switches and RF and IR devices controlled by two Broadcom RM Pro’s. I have to add at this point that I am not a programmer but I am trying to learn enough to get everything configured correctly.
So far I have installed HA on the W10 PC, discovered the Wemo and Sonos devices and through this forum created Input Boolean’s and automations to control my RF and IR devices. I have these configured as emulated hue’s to integrate with my Amazon Echo’s.
I have updated HA and it broke all my input boolean’s / hue devices as it renamed them, I manually fixed this but I saw some people suggesting doing away with the Input Boolean’s and instead creating a script for the switches and their automation. At this point I thought that sounds great but I have no idea what I need to do. I have the automation file etc, but I am not sure what is required to create scripts and replace the input boolean’s. I assume a script would still be visible to Amazon?
I realise this is a real Newb question but if someone can point me in the right direction I will have a dabble. My ultimate aim is to have Amazon Echos control my Broadcom devices and switch on and off individual devices and grouped devices (scenes) that startup and shutdown my TV system devices.
Thank you
Paul.
