Help setting up Agent DVR

Hi all,

I’m new to HA and Agent DVR and hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I have followed these instructions and added the Agent DVR Integration to HA.

However I’m at a loss on how to get the various Services like, enable_alerts , disable_alerts etc, to work with my cameras. I’m hoping to be able to setup switches to enable and disable the various services.

So far I’ve been unable to change the state from idle.

Go to the Services tab of dev tools.

Any ideas on how to make a switch to toggle arm and disarm?

Do you mean a gui element like something you can click on to arm/disarm? A button card can call a service. Button Card - Home Assistant

Not really. I have two services:

  1. Alarm control panel: Arm home
  2. Alarm control panel: Arm away

I also have a Zigbee switch.

I want to press the Zigbee switch and toggle between the above two services.

Or, somehow just toggle between Detector ON and Detector OFF. Anything that will enable and disable motion detection will do.

Hope that makes sense.

I assume you know how to create automations in home assistant? A service can be called as the action part of an automation.
