Thank you tom_l, I’ve had a look through those but as far as I can see they don’t allow me to turn the PC on only off. Idealy I’d like to be able to do both but the bare minimum is to turn it on. the only other way I can think of to do it is to wire the main button on the front of the PC to a ESP8…

Some motherboards have an option to keep power to a usb port, so you can charge your mouse or phone even when the pc is off. You could use that to power the esp8266

You can try HASS.Agent if you want an MQTT based solution, or HA Desktop Companion if you prefer your computer as a mobile device in Home Assistant (similar to MacOS).
