Help With Insteon Device links

Ok so i am coming from Homeseer4
migrating my Insteon to HA
one of the things i can do in homeseer is create all my device links between switches, etc…
For example, My den has alot of lights.
and has 3 wall switches on Each wall, for 3 rows of lights.
they are NOT wired for 4 way, BUT i have them ALL linked via insteon links.
When i bring my devices from HS into HA, i have been factory resetting the devices, and reprgramming from scratch with HA
i cant seem to figure out how to PROPERLY link switches, and stuff in HA, the configuration isnt as intuative, It might be more powerful, but i need some help figuring this out, is tjhere any documentation, or anything on how to properly link switches/devices to other devices, and switches in HA for insteon please
thanks so much

I came from another controller, UDI Eisy… Normally my method is to migrate a room or function at a time to a new controller like HA and not “Big Bang” migrate. But it turns out “Big Bang” migration is what ended up serving me well. I plugged my existing, programmed PLM into HA and let the Insteon integration discover everything from the PLM. That worked well as the detailed link capability of HA is still evolving.

Did you come from Mark Sandler’s Homeseer add on? My suggestion for you is to back track. Connect back to homeseer a put the PLM (if that’s what you’re using) back the way it was working there. Then connect the PLM to your HA server, enable the Insteon Integration and let it learn everything from the PLM. (Took mine 20 - 30 minutes)

There’s a few things missing right now like “double taps” and also programming scenes for devices with dim or ramp rates. The good news is that if the existing scenes have dim or ramp rates, the Insteon Integration execute turning those on and off appropriately… just not allow you to edit them at this time.
