Help with Nest thermostat temperature setting

Hi,

I’ve followed the instructions to set up my nest thermostat and protect with home assistant and I can see the status of the sensors on the HA dashboard. What I can’t seem to work out is how can I adjust the thermostat temperature from the climate window. If I click that panel I get a temperature which shows the current setting of the thermostat. However if I tap the up arrow and adjust it higher, it never changes the setting on the thermostat. If however I go into the nest app and change it, the thermostat and HA change to show the new setting. I assume I’m missing something really simple but not sure what. Ideally I’d like to open the HA app on my phone and be able to set the thermostat temperature by pressing the up or down arrows. Any pointers would be appreciated.

You should be able to change target temperature. You may need to wait few seconds after click up/down arrow. Did you see the toast message in left bottom corner says service has been called? Did you see any error log?

I did wait but it didn’t change and I did see a toast message. I’m new to this so not sure where I would find an error log?

I have also tried setting the state to 12 and the logbook says it’s been set but nothing gets through to the thermostat and it stays at 9?

I removed the nest integration and went through the set up again. I reauthorised the developer integration and it would then increase the temperature but not reduce it. It also would not show it on the dashboard but showed the increased temperature in the nest app and on the thermostat itself. So I rebooted the pi and it then came back and fully works.

Happy days.

Sounds like the old tech support trick final works. :beers:
