I’m very new to Home Assistant and followed a tutorial to set up HA to work with Wyoming Satellite and ChatGPT as an alexa type replacement. Everything most works great, but I really would like to get the timers working as highlighted in the recent July update.
Please can someone talk me through how to create a timer card that works so I can say ‘Hey Jarvis - start a 10 minute potato timer’ and ‘remove 5 mins from my timer’ - these functions were demoed, i just have no idea where to start in getting it working.
Since you mention a card, I imagine you’re looking for something to go on a dashboard, which you can change with voice commands?
I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing - as far as I can see voice timers are completely different from other timers. I say “I’m pretty sure” because there seems to be no documentation whatsoever on voice timers, in spite of the fact that they were formally announced in June. It’s a bit of a mess.
Setting aside the dashboard, this post may point you in the right direction:
Thank you for your message, I’m glad it’s not just me then. When I saw it formally announced, I thought it would be really straight-forward, but I can’t see where to begin. I mentioned timer card, but I should have been clearer. My main drive is to be able to have multiple timers that function like the Alexa device, voice activated through my chatgpt voice assistant, running through wyoming satellite and the HA voice assistant function. I really hope someone creates a guide / youtube video I can just copy.
I’ve looked at the intents link you shared but this is out of my comfort zone, i’ll need to research more if that’s how i can do it.
