hey all i have ben looking around recently at setting up some leg lights for my room and have been trying to figure out the best ways to do it
the total wall length of the room is about 50 feet but i know that would be impossible to manage without volt drop-off i am wondering if anyone could spare any advice
my plan is to get individually addressable leds and hook it up to wled but i am unsure of the most effective way to set up the strip as i am not too knowledgeable with this kind of thing and no matter how many videos i watch i cant wrap my head around it
any help is appreciated!
To avoid the volt drop issue just go with a higher voltage strip such as 12V. You can even go to 24V but I don’t think you can get exactly individual addressable LED’s in that voltage just yet, generally they are in sets of 3. Still a good option though.
I have a 12 volt strip around an alfresco area which is about 19m or so (~57ft) and just did power injection at both the start and end of the strip.
There is a WLED forum where you can also get help.

ah so a 12 volt strip with power connected to both ends should suffice the length needed?
Should do. I haven’t actually measured the voltage at the mid point of my strip during full brightness but it hasn’t had any colour degradation. I might do a voltage test if I get time this weekend just out of interest.
