Hey Google command mute & unmute other devices

Hi all,

I’m using Home Assistant and Google Home/Nest Minis for voice control.
In the GNM settings there is setting “lower volume when listening” which lowers the volume of the GNM device after the “ok Google” command.
This allows the device to understand the next command more clearly.

Has anyone figured out a way for the “ok Google” command to trigger a script or automation in home assistant?
I would like to use this to mute &
Unmute a non smart TV or stereo via a broadlink IR device which I already have working.
This would allow the GNM to better understand the next command due to TV or stereo audio.

Not possible as the initial command is local to that google device, you would have to physically give google a command before you could trigger something in home assistant.

Perhaps you can trigger on the volume of another google device being lowered by 50% or whatever it is it lowers it with in one go.

Something like if media player volume previous volume state was 1, and now is 0.5.
There could off course be false triggers with this.
