thanks for any assistance

Regards
Ian

Looks like DNS cannot resolve the server names.

Hi thanks for the reply any ideas how to fix?

Welcome to the forum Ian!

I’ts always a good idea to post your installation environment, so it’s easier for members to give you help.
I assume you have a standard hass.io - installation on a Rpi 3 ?

For me, it looks like the initial installation didn’t finish completely. Try to reboot your machine (Side-menu --> hass.io --> system --> reboot).
And then check your log.

For me it took minimum half an hour, till the whole installation process finished.

thanks for reply

yes on a raspbery pi 3

tried a restart the other day ,still the same is there a way to change DNS setting via configurator ,just wondering if this would fix issue

Hi Ian,
it’s not unlikely that you have a broken installation (meanwhile).
Hence some Rpi 3 questions:

  • do you use a proper power supply?
  • do you use a quality SD-card?

When I started with hass.io, I had similar problems…
Help please. Initial config

Maybe it’s worth a try.

Initially tried from home and could not get it to work at all could see ip address but could connect to . Tried different cards and power supplies even another raspberry pi no success .Took it to work and used wifi there booted up first time and now back home .sees to have a no connection .Could my internet be blocking it some how ,disabled fire wall still same . Is there an address i can pig to confirm i can access .

thanks for the help.

From logs I can see your installation is not complete.

Your wifi-configuration is the one from your work? So you can’t get internet.
Look here how to change your wifi-config (No 3) https://www.home-assistant.io/hassio/installation/
Alternatively go by lan-cable into your router.

If you will use Z-Wave devices, don’t forget disable bluetooth on your Pi 3.

I hope it helps.
