Hide chromecast/google home ui when idle

hey i’m a super noob, first time using HASS on my raspberry pi today. I have several chromecasts and im about to hook up a total of 5 google homes. I’ve searched but don’t understand what I would put into the .yaml file to hide any chromecast or google home that’s idle and not currently playing media, they just take up a lot of visual room and waste space.

Does anyone know how to do this?

You are not alone. Me and some other also dont’t like the actual media player appearance.

Have a look at this thread here: Flatten media player(s) into a group card

Maybe you can find some tips and tricks there

I’ve solved this with hiding cast devices when they are not in-use.

It’s weird this isn’t a part of hassio and it’s default behavior. I’m finding a lot of glaring issues but don’t have the knowledge to fix them. Hassio has been frustrating to say the least. I’ll try this when I get home from work, thanks!

my google cast as media player always hidden when not turn on (not show in frontend), This happened by itself. I didn’t set anything.

Other media player like speaker, tv or ps4 always show in frontend.
