Hide devices found by Unfi Integration

A solution is being worked on now, not just for this integration but all other in the future that may face a similar issue

What about the recoder function if you use it? Looks like its possible to include or exclude devices. https://www.home-assistant.io/components/recorder/ Not the best solution but a workaround for now?

That just tells ha to keep track of the history or in this case ignore it and don’t track history. The entity would still exist.

I’ve been working on a quick hack to use an MQTT-based integration for UniFi device trackers/presence. I’ve not upgraded to the latest release (because of this very issue), but it seems to be working with 0.96.5. If you’re adventurous, you can see the work in progress at https://github.com/lmamakos/unifi2mqtt

So need this - I keep my devices / entities to essentials only, would love to see a fix.

Looking forward to this being implemented as well.

It has since a few releases back!

Yes I should have updated this thread I did find it in the 0.98 release notes. Thanks!

devices are automatically added back after disabling them.

Have you tried the system option on the integration?

The problem with that approach is that no new items will ever be added to HA from Unifi. And there is no way to manually add items so if later on you ever want any new items added to HA you have to turn that selection back on again. And the all of the other items will add themselves all at once.

It makes no sense to me that we don’t have more fine grained control over the devices than we do.
