I have enabled High Accuracy Mode in the companion app by going to Settings > Companion App > Manage Sensors > Background Location > High Accuracy Mode. The high accuracy mode activates and works but every now and then I will notice that high accuracy mode doesn’t activate and when I go back to the settings I’ll find that the mode is turned off. Is there a reason this is happening?
yes the companion app logs will tell the reason
I had a look at the companion app log but I can only view the log for the last 5 mins. I don’t know when the mode is being turned off as it could’ve turned off without me knowing a day or more beforehand. I only realise it’s off when I notice that I don’t have the high accuracy notification on my phone.
your intention is to keep it on indefinitely?
I’d like the option to be on indefinitely. In other words, referring to my screenshot, I turned this toggle on but somehow it toggles off by itself.
It turns off because you have the home zone defined in the option below. It won’t stay on indefinitely then
Yes correct and I understand that bit. Maybe I’m not making sense. I understand that high accuracy will turn on and off as per settings. But what I mean is the entire option for high accuracy is disabling itself. It is as if the phone or app is turning off that toggle for me. It’s prob just my phone doing weird things.
Are you by chance using notification commands to override the state?
No I haven’t used notification commands.
Ok I figured out what was going on. Sometimes high accuracy turns on when I’m at home and the phone location thinks I’ve left (perhaps GPS temporarily was incorrect and placed me outside my home zone). When this happened I press disable in the notification thinking that it was a temporary disable until I exit the zone again. Now I realise that it’s a permanent disable.
use the high accuracy mode turn_off
commad instead of disable
as it will turn it off until the next time the zone condition changes.
Thanks I’ll give it a go
