Hi everyone, since the core 2024.11 update I have serious problems with high ram usage and unexpected restart of Home Assistant (High RAM usage and unexpected restart of Home Assistant · Issue #1241 · AlexxIT/go2rtc · GitHub).
I use 4 reolink webcams with the official integration.
I had to use an automation that restarts HA when the system ram reaches 80%
It seems that everything depends on go2rtc and I thought there was a solution with the latest core 2024.12.1 update.
The situation is really heavy because, logically, the continuous reboot affects the behaviors of the entire home automation system.
I thank the gurus and everyone for the work they do, truly wonderful … and I hope to sensitize them to find a solution to this problem that seems to affect many of us.
If you disable the cameras in HA does the memory growth go away?
Hi max,
What computer are you using as a server?
Yesterday, around 5:00 PM, I disabled all webcams and also the WebRTC option from settings/cloud and, around 5:30 PM, I restarted HA.
This is the graph.
Around 8:00 AM today I re-enabled the webcams and, after about 30 minutes, the WebRTC option.
Just before 11:00 AM the system ram reached 80% and, via automation, HA restarted.
…And the race continues…we are already almost at 60%…
Help! Help! Help!
I use a raspberry pi 4 ram 4gb 64bit
Thank you. that looks like a bug and you’ve done the work to correlate it to the webrtc component.
We should open a github issue. I searched the open ones and could not find a complete match for your symptoms.
Though it could be worthwhile looking through this list to see if you see an issue you can append this to.
I actually thought this was a situation quite similar to mine…
High RAM usage and unexpected restart of Home Assistant #1241
The problem seems to be go2rtc and the audio of the webcams (reolink in particular)…but no news at the moment…it’s a really difficult situation…
