Has anyone now successfully able to control their Hisense TV with Home Assistant. I have read various posts on the chat and it looks like something in VIDDA 6 prevented the original solution working. I have tried the work arounds but I cannot get RemoteNOW to connect to the TV. It locates it, just wont connect to it which is annoying.
I have connected it to Home Assistant via DLNA, however this doesn’t seem to work consistently and only has a few capabilities ( volume, on/off ).
I have had success in connecting Alexa Fire TV Cube to the television which is able to control channels, On/Off, Volume etc so I think there probably is a solution to use this as a bridge. My preference would be a Home Assistant direct solution though.
Not a real solution, but a workaround.
I use the HomeKit functionality to add my Hisense TV to Home Assistant. Sadly this won’t give me controls to turn the TV on and off, but at least I have the state.
I use a Broadlink to control the TV.
Hi, can YOU tell me more about how exactly you connected your Hisense Smart TV
connected to Home Assistant?
So that I can at least switch it off and on.
@tomg1970 Sorry for the crazy slow response. If I’m remembering correctly I went to Settings/Integrations and selected the Add Integration and searched for Apple and selected HomeKit Device.
Hope this helps…
Failing miserably here when trying to set up the mosquitto bridge. I’ve read the certs from my TV, put both in a crt file, called the whole thing hisense-chain.crt, referenced it as bridge_cafile in the config. Result:
Ok, got everything configured, but now when the integration tries to connect, there’s a pop-up on the TV saying something like “This TV is no longer compatible with the current version of the app” and the conection fails. Guess they’ve changed something again?
