Hive heating integration gone!

Hi everyone,

I wounder if anyone his having this problem? I installed HIVE hub and thermostat system several months ago and all went well, integration with Home Assistant worked first time. It suddenly became an ‘unavailable’ entity a few days ago (around the time I undated to 4.13) and I just cant get it back!

I’ve remove the entry from my config file and re entered, checking config and re-starting every time but my HA just will not/cannot see the Hive integration at all. I’ve checked and changed and re-checked username and password but to no avail.

The config entry is very simple ie

hive:
username: YOUR_USERNAME
password: YOUR_PASSWORD

Any ideas?

Cheers SteveB

I can confirm I have the same issue. I have another piece of integration with hive, unrelated to HA and that has stopped working to.

Sorry I can’t be more positive.

Hi Peter,

Lets hope someone has an answer :crossed_fingers:

Same issue here, strange as its been very stable for well over a year.

I’ve been doing some digging and KJonline has requested that the Core include the latest release of pyhiveapi, https://github.com/home-assistant/core/commit/c0c38fa6d47fd959026196ecfedc3ef800a4f368

Pyhiveapi was updated 4 days ago following a url change. https://github.com/Pyhive/Pyhiveapi/releases/tag/0.20.2

So it looks like a fix is filtering through.

Good news, thanks

ok so what`s the fix in the end ?

I have edited the .json file however still no luck …

I can`t update the Pyiveapi for some reason …

I’m stuck with this issue too. Is there a fix?

I fixed this by installing the custom_component (2020._b25)

Hi Andrew,

I’ve tried this several times and cannot get it to work.

I can easily instal the repository via HACS but when going to HA Integrations as advised, there is no Hive Integration to be found.to enable me to input my HIve username and password. So I enter these details directly into my configuration YAML but stil not working ie no HIve climate entity etc.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Steve

@Valdore I had the same problem. I was unable to find any way of installing the beta version referenced in my post using HACS. I installed manually.

For info:

  1. Remove your hive integration and delete it in HACS
  2. ssh into your HASS and go to the custom_components directory
  3. your custom_components directory should not now contain a hive subdirectory
  4. download the zip file (wget https://github.com/Pyhive/HA-Hive-Custom-Component/archive/2020.1_b25.zip)
  5. unzip the file (unzip 2020.1_b25.zip)
  6. rename the resulting folder to hive (mv 2020.1_b25 hive)
  7. restart HASS
  8. Hass should now let you add the hive integration as normal
  9. You will probably need to change automations and lovelace references as the custom component entity names are not the same as the Home Assistant Integration names

Note that you will not receive any updates to this component; I guess that when this custom_component goes to issue 2020.1 (or later) then things will spring back to life and you can re-install using HACS (and take advantage of automatic updates).

hope this helps

Thanks Andrew, will try after work this evening

Hi again, folowed your instructions 3 times no luck :frowning:
