Home Assistant 1-wire integration or alternatives?

Hi all,

I would like to integrate my 1wire Multisensors. I thougt about switching over to Zigbee Humidity and Temperature Modules but I found nothing for outdoor and nothing which measures temperatures below -20°C. It`s a pity!

Therefore I need a workaround to implement my 1-wire Interface to Home Assistant. The adapter supports owfs.

The idea is now to run owfs and owserver on a separate rpi. The Home Assistant should connect to the 1wire rpi via LAN. Does anyone know, how to do so with HA? Is it only adding the 1-wire integration in HA and configuring the IP of the 1-wire rpi?

If there is a better solution how to messure temperature and humidity outside, please let me know. The 1wire environment can be decommissioned!

Hello Spartacus,

have you thought about using an esp and esphome?
Its far cheaper than a raspi and works fine with e. g. dallas sensors

Best regards,
Stefan

Hi Stefan,

thanks for quick response. Yes, I know the project.
I am using two different Multisensor-Modues based on DS2438 and DS2450. I am sure this can be implemnted in ESPHome, but I guess the effort is too big and I am not experienced in ESP programming as well. I prefer an easy solutions without major tinkering.

The current system is running on fhem for 5.6 years and just because I am switching to HA, I don’t necessarily want to start new projects for humidity and temperature measurement.
The best way I think is to find a affordable ready device which can be connected via zigbee or LAN.

But until now, I havn`t found anything!
