Hello,
Audio won’t work in that case since it does not work through Ingress. You need to expose the noVNC port on the Internet and use that to access to the add-on by specifying the port.
If you do it that way, you can also use the web authentication to protect it.
I don’t recommend exposing the add-on directly on the Internet however.
If anybody knows if it’s possible to have audio through Ingress, I would be interested.
I’ve come across this thread in my own quest to get an old ipad 4 setup as a functional HA dashboard. What are all your experiences so far using this integration to do that? As I understand it the gist is to setup the firefox host, connect to it and use that to open the HA browser dashboard? I take it I’d need a “no scroll” dashboard from what I read.
I also cannot get any VNC apps to successfully install on the tablet (as the OS is not recent enough, 10.3.3 is the newest it will install). Will I be able to access this firefox instant without a VNC app on my tablet just from a URL or not? Thanks for any tips/cautions before I decide my best option to try.
Ok, since I asked I already figure out I can:
1- run it without VNC by using safari with the firefox port, or
2- Install VNC on a new iphone which then allows me to install an old version on the old ipad via the “purchased” menu. (seems to work better)
So far it looks like it will work. Did we ever find a workaround on the touch screen scroll function, or do we need non-scrolling dashboards for this use case?
