Home Assistant authentication for add-on expired,accompanied by the motionEye

I received the following error message today after the HA update:
(accompanied by the motionEye icon) Authentication for add-on expired.
Reconfiguring motionEye fails with the error message:
! Invalid authentication.
Can anyone help me with this?

I have the same problem too.

There appears to be a known compatibility issue between the latest version of the MotionEye add-on (0.24.0) and the MotionEye integration in Home Assistant.
MotionEye 0.44.0, included in the 0.24.0 add-on, has changed its authentication system (including switching to Argon2 and session-based authentication).
The Home Assistant integration still expects the previous authentication mechanism, resulting in a 403 Forbidden/authentication failed error. This does not appear to be a password or configuration issue.
This issue has already been reported, and the most likely solution is to wait for an update to the Home Assistant integration or temporarily revert MotionEye to the previous version.

same issue here since at least 2 weeks

what’s annoying is that we no longer have access to security cameras on the dashboard.

If you have used backup of old version during update, you can simply reinstall the old version in settings/system/backups-menu under app-update-backups.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunatly I got not backup of MotionEyes in the setting’s system backup… I just have to wait for the update that fix this issue…

you could try to install an old version with the steps explained in google results, I mentioned 2 days earlier.

Those are only useful in restoring an old version that was previously used and in an available backup. Is there a way to install a prior version in HA deployments that never ran a prior version of MotionEye?
