Home Assistant Blue: Dead on Arrival?

Plugged in my new Blue to power and ethernet - couldn’t log in via homeassistant.local etc. Have a faint red light for power internal and activity at the ethernet port.

Tried a power cycle. Same.

Checked on my router and tried to log in via its IP but couldn’t find it.

Am now trying it connected by HDMI to a monitor and I’m just getting a blank screen on power up (well nothing at all, the monitor just goes into power save).

Anybody any thoughts? I will try it on another monitor - should i need ethernet to get something on boot up? Or can I just add power and HDMI?

Any other suggestions? Am I down to just RMA or open it up and try to flash it (and void warranty?)?

Well that was easy!

Opened it up and the emmc was laying on top of the ethernet port…

Now “Preparing Home Assistant”

I think that was mentioned in the rollout - shipping can dislodge it. Maybe they need a foam spacer that you’d remove before use.
