I’m quite new at all of this…my goal is to stream spotify to multiple devices simultaneously on the nework, including to Home Assistant the way that I already can using this add-on, reason being I have the LedFX add-on which controls my LED’s to music. So on LEDFx my input is pulse, can I take that pulse input and send it to other audio outputs? or is there a better route to play spotify to LEDFx and other speakers at the same time? Thanks!
I believe this happens when it is already busy installing in the background and you press it for a second time. Had the same issue just now when installing VSCode on an Raspberry Pi 3B, but when looking at the logs it was just busy installing the add-on. (For googling purposes, the error code I got aswell was: “Failed to install addon, [object Object]”, I hope by posting this I can help someone else.)
@grashugger - thanks. All my issues are cleared. The last one was related o some bug already fixed. So I am enjoying this nice add-on working fine !
Thanks for this great integration. One issue I am having is that when I switch to my RPi speakers from the Spotify app on my iPhone, the volume always reverts to 100%, blasting the room with music. Is there any way to set the initial/default volume at say 25%?
thanks
Any idea how to interrupt this add-on, say a tts, and then resume Spotify? Ducking the volume or pausing… either would be great.
this addons is completely broken since months on my Pi4 using hassio.
it work 1 time every 10 times.
sometimes it does not work, sometimes it produces a completely crackling audio.
don’t understand if there is someone with Pi4 + hassio who use it without problems.
This addon has been working great until last night. Now after a song or two, the music stops and the following error is in the log. Restarting the addon will allow another song or two to play before the same thing happens again. Is anyone else having this issue?
Loading <AMEN> with Spotify URI <spotify:track:4eYe0vzdQQ9cxM98Ea90b1>

This add-on never worked well for me.
It works for some time and then it stops working without touching it.
Got this problem since months.
I installed the addon without any problems but this error pops up. What is it closely related to?

Hi, new to Home Assistant. I have it running in a Linux VirtualBox VM running on a Windows 10 Host. I have the 3.5mm output of the Win 10 host connected to an amplifier.
I have installed the Spotify Connect Add-On successfully and can connect to it however there is no audio coming out of the speakers. Not sure what i am missing, any help would be appreciated.
Anyone know if there a way to see the content of a Spotify playlist and select the song to play? The Spotify Card lets me start playing a playlist, but I would like to see the songs within the playlist and select the starting song. Anyone know of another custom card that provides such functionality?
Here are the integrations and cards I have working already:
BTW I recently moved from Tidal to Spotify simply because this level of integration was not available in Tidal. The main driver was that Spotify is a default music service for Google Assistant whereas Tidal are ignoring thousands of customer requests for the same thing.
Did you get this sorted out? I’m facing a similar problem trying to connect LedFX pulse input to the audio output from an instance of forked-daapd.
Hi all
I am looking to install the addon. I have 2 questions.
-
Do I also need to configure the spotify integration? ( I don’t have premium account) or can I use the addon with a free account?
-
Is there a way to play music in through my chromecast audio?
I think that this is the most broken addon in the hassio history, probably it’s not an addon fault but a spotify fault but this never works well.
Hi folks,
I’ve prepared a slight variation of this add-on based on librespot
instead of spotifyd
.
I’ve modified the upstream add-on to add a few options:
- Allows changing the volume control (linear, log, fixed)
- Allows setting an initial volume (@daleski, give it a try!)
- Allows creating an entity that exposes the status of
librespot
The main advantages are:
* Use a more recent librespot
version than the one used by spotifyd
(with full support for podcasts!) (@sblantipodi might help with your issues)
* Allows using spaces in the device name
* Allows changing the volume control (linear, log, fixed)
* Supports gapless playback (@LC7894)
* Allows setting an initial volume (@daleski, give it a try!)
The add-on is available in a repository.
In the
Add-on store
page, open the menu, click on Repository
and use https://github.com/giannello/addon-spotify-connect-librespot
https://github.com/giannello/addon-spotify-connect
as the repository URL. The new add-on will be available at the bottom of the page.
The old repository will be deleted, please remove it from your Add-on store
!
To test this addon, get the code from here and copy the spotify-librespot
directory under your HA addon
directory.
Go to the add-on store of your HA installation, reload the list using the right menu
You should now see the new extension available in the list.
The add-on will compile on your device - expect 30-35 minutes on a RPI4.
Nice! Will check it
Hi, I’m trying to integrate my multiroom speakers, I’ve got:
2 Sonos (I know i’ts not compatible…)
1 JBL link 10 (google compatible)
1 bluetooth input for my 5.1 AV receiver( In alternative I can use the Pi4 3.5 jack, or use the Pi4 HDMI output to the receiver… any suggestion?)
my question is: can I select an output?
I also tried to group the player with the mini media player, without success…
Do you have documentation for the configuration?
The spotify connect add-on supports selecting the output audio device, if that’s what you’re asking.
Just head over to the add-on configuration page, and use the Audio
-> Output
select field:
IEC958
is for HDMI out. Not sure how to get bluetooth audio sinks to show up there, I’ve never tried that myself. I wouldn’t recommend using the 3.5 jack, as the audio quality it’s quite bad.
Correct, I didnt see that tab, but it’s still using the 3.5 jack even if IEC958 is enabled…
I’m using grouped cards with both media player and spotcast, but I don’t think this is the problem…
I succesfully installed this and can see it showing up within Spotify. However, casting doesn’t work. It doesn’t transfer the audio to it. Any ideas?
I tried the official one just now, that one does cast to it using Spotify.
