I am not aware of such addon.
What I am plannig to do at this point (it is a early plan so might be changed) is to have a tablet (I have 1 or 2 not used any more) on the wall with HA panel and will have Spotify installed on it so anyone can select music which via HA Addon will be played.
But this is separate from HA Spotify application (on the tablet) or webplayer (via browser).
Go To: Configuration -> Integrations -> The Big Plus on the bottom right side -> search Spotify and do the next steps that will be asked from the integration.
After that you should get somethin like a media_player.spotify_[xyz] and then you could use that to control music in a specific way.
After that you could manually add it in the lovelace if needed.
Re: the multiple Spotify accounts, Iām a little stuck on a small detail
I had 2 Spotify accounts running nicely, then when the Integration became official, I had to re-configure accordingly. I am not a terribly smart person so it took me a little time, but Iāve got both accounts humming along nicely again, which is awesome.
But, now Iāve got a parsing/non-unique key error. I havenāt found the way to format it so that both accounts work and I donāt have a duplicate key.
So, the following worksā¦
spotify:
client_id: !secret My_client_id
client_secret: !secret My_client_secret
spotify:
client_id: !secret MyWifes_client_id
client_secret: !secret MyWifes_client_secret
But Iām getting this in VS Code -
File 'configuration.yaml' could not be parsed, it was referenced from path 'configuration.yaml'.This file will be ignored. Error(s):
- YAMLSemanticError: Map keys must be unique; "spotify" is repeated (Line: 2)
And I do of course see the duplicate, I just havenāt sorted how to re-format it correctly. Would you be able to clarify?
You only need 1 spotify
entry. If you want to use multiple account, you can simply add more via the UI. You donāt need multiple entries in your YAML configuration for that.
That cleared me up, thank you.
Release v0.8.0
This add-on no longer needs a username and password, you can remove it and it will enable discovery mode, which allows anybody on your network (even with different Spotify accounts) to use the add-on
However, if youād like to lock it into your Spotify account, feel free to leave or put the username and password in the configuration. That still works and will disable the discovery mode.
The add-on has some upgrades to prepare for the new Home Assistant Audio handling that is expected soon.

Hi All, I had this Spotify addon working for several days. Today it started to playback with bad sound quality. It looks like decoding issues. Can someone help to fix it?
Regards, Wim
Hi! I have the same mistake
me too
Yes , i think the problem was generated after hassos update to 3.12 , why ?, because it works fine on other machines , and on the PI im experiencing the same as all of you , this was the only change I did . Now audio coming from the spotify source is distorted , at the same time all other audio sources going out the same PI is fine .
There seem to be quite a few of us with this issue. It is also reported here: https://github.com/home-assistant/audio/issues/7
What a great add-on! Nice work, especially the new feature for multiple Spotify accounts! Works like a charm. I am running hass.io on raspberry pi 4 and the Spotify music is fed through my hdmi port to my music system. I am looking for a local media player integration (like mpd) for webradio playback via hdmi. Is there anything like that coming up in the āthe new Home Assistant Audio handlingā which you are referring to?
I may have found what I am looking for: the hassio-add-on Mopidy. However, I canāt find it in the Home Assistant Community Add-ons. Any help?
@teddy The Hassio-add-on version of Mopidy doesnāt have a stable release yet.
You can find an edge-version on the edge-repository, but have to add the repo to your add-on store to see it there.
Hi @The-May,
If i am not mistaken, this is to be able to control a Spotify account from Home Assistant. Whereas @frenck addon is to use the Raspberry audio output directly from Spotify.
I think I am missing something here, sorry. How to be able to control the Raspberry audio output from multpiple accounts? The only thing I did to be able to control it from my account is add the account and edit its configuration. I havenāt done anything to the Integration page or to Lovelace.
Sorry if I am a bit lost with all this.
Dear all,
I am having an issue with the addon.
I chose a bitrate of 320. When I restart Home Assistant, if I try to play with Spotify on my Rasperry, the sound is terribly bad. If I change the bitrate to 160, restart the add-on, change it back to 320 and restart the add-on again, it works fine again. How can I do for not hvaing to do this tedious manipulation? By the way, a bitrate of 160 will not work either (sound is crashing badly).
Besides, at the start of the add-on, this is what I observe even though I do not see any update available.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Hass.io Add-on: Spotify Connect
Play Spotify music on your Home Assistant device
-----------------------------------------------------------
Add-on version: 0.8.0
There is an update available for this add-on!
Latest add-on version: null
Please consider upgrading as soon as possible.
System: HassOS 3.12 (armv7 / raspberrypi4)
Home Assistant Core: 0.107.7
Home Assistant Supervisor: 214
The sound distortion has been noted by several people and this problem has been registered: https://github.com/home-assistant/audio/issues/7.
It seems to be resolved but I am not sure when this fix will appear in the updates.
EDIT: No need to answer, I figured it out. Leaving the post here in case others wonders the same. The solution was as simple as login to HA using Incognito in Chrome, and add the integration!
@frenck You only need 1
spotify
entry. If you want to use multiple account, you can simply add more via the UI. You donāt need multiple entries in your YAML configuration for that.
Can you help me out a bit here?
I have my config.yaml entry (correctly formatted, not like below)
spotify:
client_id: xxx
client_secret: xxx
And try to add a second Spotify account. But if I try to just another Spotify account via Integrations it just connects to my own account (which is already connected). What am I missing?
Iām wondering whether there is a way to activate crossfade and gapless playback? Unfortunately I canāt access those functions in the settings of the app when playing Spotify via Home Assistant.
An option that ensures that I have no breaks between two songs (especially if tracks have e.g. 4 quiet seconds at the end) would be amazing!
Do you still have the problem @Fernando_Donan or does someone else have the problem? Iām experiencing the same issue. But unfortunately during my music plays. After some time (15-45min) the music just stops and it gives me this error:
Os { code: 104, kind: ConnectionReset, message: "Connection reset by peer" }
An addon restart helps but is a bit annoying
