EDIT: So was working on some other stuff and guess what i found! Turns out that the auto backup for the USG actually goes… and your never going to believe this… the backup folder in Hass OS!! Yea so I hope this helps anyone else looking to do what I am Hass OS is running on a generic x86 system and so far everything else is windows. If anyone is interested i am doing the backup via PowerShell script that backs up both the hass os and USG daily. BTW to all who are having that super awesome adoption loop i feel your pain! I did manage to figure out how to get it to adopt and it was pretty simple if help is needed please feel free to reach out. I have had it happen with unifi software outside of HA as well its not a good feeling to re-assign over 100 dhcp reservations one at a time.
Hey guys.
Running Unifi App on an windows machine and want to migrate it to my HomeAssistant blue (odroid n2+ with 4GB RAM).
About 30-40% RAM is occupied by current HA core & addons.
Is this enough for running the addon and is it stable?
Thank you
pOpY
its consuming a good amount of memory and CPU, see below a screenshot from my system (RPI4) and it depends on what else you have.
it is very stable. I have not had another solution and earlier versions had some database issues but that is gone for a good time now!
Oh, that’s a lot of RAM just for Tracking a few devices. Now using the “fixed” unifi_direct for tracking devices and I can leave the Controller stopped and just starting it when needed.
Thx.
Anyone who knows how to set the ram and CPU ussage for the unifi controller on the RPI3?
Mine pi keeps crashing when setting up the controller.
How much RAM has your pi3?
as stated from others above, the controller takes up to ~600 MB ram.
I need to check this when i just installed the controller on it. Normally the RPI3B has 1GB of total ram.
keep you posted.
Which port should i open to access after install. I opened 8443 but then the setup ends up in my router login page?
To access from outside you need to forward port 8443 to 8443 protocol TCP In your router and access it with https://. Chrome will complain that connection is not private …
Does anyone know how to housekeep the addon’s database when it gets large please?
Hello fellow HA users,
Is this addon still being maintained? I see this on the readme:
My system is running HAOS 8.0 on a Raspberry Pi 3 (armv7l), and when I try to install the addon I’m greeted with this message:
This add-on is not compatible with the processor of your device or the operating system you have installed on your device.
Thoughts?
They stopped supporting 32 bit, so maybe you have a 32 bit OS or 32 bit processor ?
I seem to be stuck on version 2.1.0 of this add-on. It’s not auto-updating at all. Can an uninstall/re-install fix that?
Does it say there is no update, when you manually ask it to update.
I found that the PiHole i was running was blocking HA from reaching the update server.
If you run a Pihole, try to do a manual search for a new update, and then look in the log for the HA IP and see what is being blocked when you do the update.
I don’t even see an option to do a manual search for an update. It honestly looks “disconnected”, in that the icon is missing, etc.
If it makes any difference, a lot of my add-ons look similar. No “Documentation” tabs, Changelog link just says no changelog found, etc. I’m still running core-2022.3.8 due to still using zwave (deprecated) and slowly figuring out my migration path for that.
EDIT: I found the manual update. I don’t even see the Unifi Network Application under the Official add-ons anymore, same with many of the ones I’m running, like Adguard Home, Aircast, and a few others.
This led me to the ultimate resolution. The Home Assistant Community Add-ons wasn’t removed from my repositories (or something along those lines), so I added https://github.com/hassio-addons/repository back to the repos.
Oh, that makes sense! I re-installed not too long ago, and picked the 32-bit image for Home Assistant OS, thinking I did not need the extra overhead of the 64-bit pointers and address space. Was not aware of these differences. I guess I’ll have to re-install sometime soon.
thanks!
Has anyone noticed the addon just stopped running? For some reason the add-on in my case randomly stops running. It looks like a normal stop as watchdog does not see it as a crash and does not start it again. Just starting the add-on will run it again.
Because it being like a normal stop action, I do not see any logs either… anyone has a clue how I can find the root cause for this behaviour? All other components run well and I have no indication of any other issues on my system.
I might add an automation so I get a notification when it actually is stopped to see when it happens… Anyone has any idea that could help?
I am trying to add 2 UAP-AC-LR access points. However they keep hanging at Adopting…
What can I do to fix this?
Edit: I fixed it by changing the inform host of both AP’s to the correct port. It was 8080 and it should be 8085…
I have a UDM-pro is there a way to link this on this addon? so i have the unifo control panel inside my HA ?
