Home Assistant Community Add-on: UniFi Controller

No, i don’t run other add-ons. I have some add-ons installed but they are not running.

As i described in idle only 1.1GB of 8GB memory is used, that’s why i think i can exclude a memory issue!?!??

Can I just restore backup file from my old Network Application I am moving from to this HA addon integration?

Yes you should be able to, just make sure the backup and restore is done with the same version of the network app.

Q: I have a dream router 7 and several switches and AP’s. Can this integration also be used with the dream router and devices?

My Unifi addon suddenly stopped answering on port 8443 so web UI and the app is dead. It happened yesterday evening and I think no updates triggered the issue, not HA nor the Supervisor nor the addon nor HAOS itself was updated at the time. It worked just fine earlier during the day.

I’m on a Rpi4 8Gb with latest HA OS and HA 2025.12.1

I’ve tried:

  1. Restarting the supervisor (usually helps to get port forwarding going again)
  2. Restarting the whole system
  3. Restoring the Unifi backup to a couple of different backups that I know worked
  4. Increased max memory to 2048 Mb. This is a bit funny because I’m very sure I had aldready done this a long time ago but that setting seemed lost. Should I try to increase even more? There are RAM to spare anyway on this 8Gb Pi. Edit: The addon seems to idle at about 800Mb RAM so dont think a 2048Mb would be the issue.
  5. Edit: I also ssh:ed into my Unifi devices and they seem to think they are connected to the controller so those ports (not 8443) must be working I guess :man_shrugging:

Here’s the thing: I did a lot of changes to my power metering system yesterday, so I’m quite reluctant to restore the whole system to an earlier backup. But if that is my last resort, I’ll do it. The changes done have absolutely nothing to do with Unifi and I haven’t touched any other addon or network settings.

I’m not sure how to extract any logs from the Unify system itself. That would probably pinpoint the problem pretty quickly (if the issue is in the Unifi software itself) but how do I get to them?

Last EDIT: So suddenly the app works again. Not sure if it was my last system restart or what got it going again. And on top of that I also realized that due to using nginx as an SSL proxy also for Unifi Controller, the Addon “Open web UI” link is not actually working but I seem to have forgot that. So, to summarize: For some unknown reason the app didn’t wanna connect for a while but now does, and due to 100% user error I tried to connect to the wrong web URL when troubleshooting.

Trying to use this add-on, installs fine, set up is fine, but after restoring at any point in the process it will not allow me to login. Tried setting up local user account, tried multiple standard passwords, nothing allows me to login after I restore from backup, anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Yeah, same here. I made a backup of the current install on my PC , exported it and tried to set this up and it doesn’t work.

It does not adopt my access points, it just cycles.

There is a point where the add-on is to blame. I am running it on a quaf core i5 with 32 gb of ram.

Anyone know how to get this to work?
