Home Assistant Docker and Mqtt

Hi

I have just setup Home Assistant in a docker on Ubuntu

I have setup mqtt outside of the docket (just on the ubuntu install) and can connect to it fine, the test payload works fine on Home Assistant but I cannot seem to see any data from my devices on Home assistant, any ideas? thanks

Make sure you go to Integrations > MQTT and set it up and then you should connect your MQTT to HA.

Hi Yes that is shown, and the test payloads work, I can start the listener and send a message fine, but it doesn’t appear to be seeing my devices that connect to mqtt, thanks!

You have to make sure both your HA and your devices are set up correctly for discovery.

Or you will need to set up each device manually in your config using yaml.
