I have multiple Esphome piwer measurement sensors, that feed utility meter sensors.
Once such displayed below
I can not see any information “missing” but the drop down in the energy component is empty.
You still need
device_class: energy
As far as im aware you cannot add that to utility meter.

Sensor is an ESPHOME integration
