hi good day, i need to know if I can implement HA for a hotel solution with 65 rooms.
i need to run Lora for devices which are on battery power and for device with direct power, i will be use existing IOT wifi. the gateeway i like to use mikrotik knot for Lora.it will be appricated if anyone done this solution.
do the end users need control in their rooms or are you intending to keep traditional controls in room and use ha to manage/monitor energy?
hi, for mgmt mostly
mgmt is very board, can you be more specific. Like a list of what you really want to do.
Yeah you know what im REALLY asking…
This sensor works on wifi and can detect humans and also count people inside the room
Are you sure that’s even legal? I have no idea but once you start counting people you get close to unwanted surveillance.
makes me wonder if this it is even legal to use this in a hotel
Yes, I need it for management purposes. On the guest side, all is traditional. IOT SSID and home assistant will be on same Vlan locally. even the port for Mikrotik Lora gatwate is on same Vlan
Currently, new hotels are being established for two primary purposes: to assist housekeeping in monitoring which rooms require cleaning when they are unoccupied, and to enable the reception staff to ensure that the number of guests does not exceed the room’s capacity.
In certain labor and student hostels, a charge is applied for four individuals per room; however, some companies accommodate up to eight individuals in a single room. This practice leads to issues in shared areas, such as bathrooms and restaurants, as well as increased expenses for water and electricity.
This might depend on the part of the world you live in,
But for this type of monitoring, my gut feeling is that is not ok, At least not in de EU.
You can monitor exactly when people are in the room or not. 2 people merging into 1 might means something else.
I would be really careful with this,
But your question is, will this device work. I don’t know, if it’s tuya I think you have a chance.
I agree with @bkbartk , tread carefully and if this in within the laws where you are located be sure to inform your guests very good. I for one would not be comfortable living in a hotel where my room’s body count is monitored.
it not tuya, but they will provide with SDK
