Hi,

Have started to use home assistant on my raspberry pi and it works great, used à diffrent system on my pi before but whanted the functions in home assistant. But i have one problem…

In my setup in the last system i hade 2 magnetic contacts connected to the gpios and they are NC. When they open to Gnd i would like to see it in home assistant, and also IF possible get an email. The contacts are connected to Gpio 22 and 16 and then to gnd.

Is it possible to get this function in home assistant?

I have not used these components but there are both GPIO switch and GPIO sensor components for the RPi. Sounds like you are wanting to use the GPIO as a sensor. An Automation can be used to trigger an email using the SMTP component. All the information you need to do what your wanting should be within the links below.
