Home Assistant Green Keeps Crashing

Well, yes you are. The Home Assistant Green is most analogous to the Raspberry Pi 4 Model B in terms of processor, RAM and performance.

If you have added any hardware powered from the Green, such as USB cameras or external SSD, you could be asking the PSU for more power than it’s capable of providing.

I’m also having the same issue. The box is brand new, only has a skyconnect hooked up (i’ve since removed it to isolate that as a potential issue. I’ve restored a backup to the Green so it is setup with many integrations and automations already. It has become unresponsive about once a day using the power supply which came with it.

I am willing to begin disabling integrations and add-ons to help troubleshoot, but outside of that this device has a network cable and the power cord plugged in and freezes daily, to the point where it is essentially useless :frowning:

I can ping the box. I can telnet and get rejection from non-listening ports (eg 80 or 22) and when I attempt to telnet to port 8123, I get no response. It just sits there and never establishes.

This is to say it appears the underlying OS is still up and running, however the home assistant service is not responsive.

Same here, brand new home assistant green, sky connect plugged into on board usb, loaded backup from a previous pi setup.

Initially the changeover went really smoothly.

Its powered via the supplied power supply which is plugged into a ups so it it protected from spikes and brownouts.

Was going offline one a week, now twice a day.

Currently seems to come back online in around 10 minutes and queues up automations so they all happen after it comes back online.

Also entity event logs seem to continue during the offline period of you check them once it’s back online you can see state changes that happened while the hass UI was unavailable.

Glad of any ideas.

Good evening to all.

Been there struggling similar issues with Home Assistant Green I had bought few months ago.

I tried many times to make it working, and then I decided to move to Raspberry Pi 8GB due running out of eMMC space.

Issues gone.

Home Assistant Green is perfect entry tool to learn Home Assistant. But when you would want more, you should upgrade.

I’m sorry for bad news. I wish you good luck.

after removing amcrest from my configuration i’ve had a more stable experience. more than 5 days running without a “crash”, which is 4 days longer than my previous record.

# removing this for eliminating as a possible crash cuase 2024.12.27
# amcrest: !include amcrest.yaml

Well, it started to me also…
Assistant Green which I bought couple of month ago became unresponsive several days/week.
I can also ping the unit, but this is all.
The problem that I have is that I work remote, more that 1 month far from home and I do not have any posibillity to troubleshoot this from abroad.
It looks like there are issues with this boxes.

Hello. had the same problem, looks like its crashing because of memmory leak, and the probmlem for me is wyoming protocol
